All lanes scheduled to open on WIS 36 and County P in Racine County

October 16, 2009

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is announcing that with the cold weather fast approaching, crews will be wrapping up work on WIS 36 and County P in Racine County. Construction activity has been ongoing during the summer.

All lanes of traffic on County P will officially re-open to traffic on Friday, Oct. 16. WIS 36 will open on Monday, Oct. 19, weather permitting.

Crews began work on this project in mid-June as part of the Burlington Bypass grading project for the west half. The 2.7 mile, $13.3 million dollar project consisted of installing three new structures at WIS 36 and the bypass, two new structures at County P and the bypass, asphaltic concrete pavement reconstruction, and curb and gutter.

James Peterson Sons, Inc. was the prime contractor.

A combination of state and federal funds paid for the project.
