October 16, 2009

Celebration planned for Thursday, Nov. 12

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing a ribbon cutting has been scheduled marking the completion of the US 41 expansion project in Marinette County. It will be held Thursday, Nov. 12 at the rest area on US 41 between Marinette and Peshtigo adjacent to Sequin’s House of Cheese, beginning at 1:30 p.m. The event is being hosted by the city of Peshtigo and Marinette County.

Among the dignitaries invited to participate are Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle, US Congressman Steve Kagen, Transportation Secretary Frank Busalacchi and other state and local officials.

According to Marinette County Administrator Steven A. Corbeille, “US 41 is our major route through the region and serves as a vital link in our transportation infrastructure. The conclusion of this project means safer public mobility and economic growth for decades. We should take a moment to acknowledge this achievement.”

Plans for the event have not been finalized. More information will be distributed as it becomes available.
