US 51 and WIS 13 lane closures Oct. 19 - Nov. 6 in Marathon and Wood counties

Motorists can expect to encounter flagging operations and lane closures on the following highways beginning Oct. 19, 2009:

• US 51 between County K and the Lincoln County Line in Marathon County
• WIS 13 between Wisconsin Rapids and Marshfield in Wood County

The lane closures are necessary so construction crews can complete roadway maintenance. Work is scheduled for completion by the end of the day Nov. 6, 2009.

Motorists can expect to encounter periodic delays between the hours of 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. Motorists should also be alert for slow moving vehicles, heavy construction equipment and turning trucks within the work zone. To avoid any potential delays motorists may want to use alternate routes.

The work requires favorable weather conditions and is subject to change.
