Lane closures planned for bridge work on southbound US 51 at McFarland

October 23, 2009

Work may affect late afternoon southbound commuter traffic

Repairs to the approaches to a bridge over Siggelkow Road will close one lane of southbound US 51 on McFarland’s north side next week.  Work will begin at 7 a.m. Monday (October 26) and will continue until about 5 p.m. Thursday, weather permitting.  There may be minor traffic delays during evening commute times during construction.

Work will begin in the right lane Monday and will switch to the left lane Wednesday.

Northbound lanes will not be affected.

Motorists should slow down, use caution, stay alert, and follow directions provided by signs and arrow boards.

Motorists also should be alert for slow moving vehicles, construction equipment and turning trucks within the work zone. To avoid any potential delays motorists may want to use alternate routes.
