Eastbound I-94 east of Madison will be down to one lane next week
October 23, 2009
All lanes will be open during evening commute times
A repaving project will reduce traffic to one lane in the eastbound lanes of I-94 for a four-mile stretch between WIS 73 and WIS 89 starting at 7 p.m. Monday, October 26. In an effort to get the project done before winter weather sets in, the paving project, which has been generally done during overnight hours, will have expanded work hours of 7 p.m. to 11 a.m. the following morning. All lanes will be open between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. to accommodate afternoon and evening commutes.
Work is expected to wrap up in the eastbound lanes by 11 a.m. Thursday, October 29. The following week, weather permitting, the westbound lanes will be done.
Motorists should slow down, use caution, stay alert, and follow directions provided by signs and arrow boards.
Motorists also should be alert for slow moving vehicles, heavy construction equipment and
turning trucks within the work zone. To avoid any potential delays motorists may want to use
alternate routes.
