Governor Doyle approves $105,895 project at Wautoma Municipal Airport
October 28, 2009
Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $105,895 project to design a new airport terminal building at the Wautoma Municipal Airport. The Governor’s action releases $2,647.50 in state funds for the project, and the city of Wautoma is contributing another $2,647.50. The Federal Aviation Administration will provide $100,600.
According to Terry Ripp, airport engineering specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the project will bring a much-needed energy efficient building, large decrease in building maintenance costs for the airport, and a new look and layout for the terminal area.
The project design process should be completed by June 2010.
Facilities at the Wautoma Municipal Airport include 3,300-foot and 1,190-foot paved runways
along with a 2,280-foot turf airstrip. About 40 aircraft are based at the airport and
approximately 9,000 take-offs and landings occur each year.
