Governor Doyle approves $5,650 project at Clintonville Municipal Airport
October 28, 2009
Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $5,650 project to replace the airport rotating beacon at the Clintonville Municipal Airport. The Governor’s action releases $5,650 in state funds to replace the old, deteriorating beacon. The city of Clintonville will cover the beacon installation costs.
According to Craig Butler, project manager with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the project will greatly enhance safety during night and low light conditions by making it easier for pilots to locate the airport.
Facilities at the Clintonville Municipal Airport include the 4,600-foot primary runway, the
3,300-foot secondary runway, and a 2,040-foot turf airstrip. There are some 40 aircraft based
at the airport and approximately 8,000 aircraft take-offs and landings occur each year.
