Governor Doyle approves $357,895 project at Waupaca Municipal Airport
October 28, 2009
Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $357,895 project to construct a snow removal equipment
building at the Waupaca Municipal Airport – Brunner Field. The Governor’s action releases
$7,895 in state funds for the project and the City of Waupaca is contributing $50,000. The
Federal Aviation Administration is providing the remaining $300,000.
According to Michael Gabor, airport engineering specialist with the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation, the project will keep the airport snow removal equipment out of the elements, thus
extending the life of the machinery.
The building will be constructed in 2010.
Waupaca Municipal Airport has two runways. Currently, 35 aircraft are based at the
airport, and approximately 20,000 take-offs and landings occur each year.
