All lanes scheduled to open Thursday, Oct. 29, on WIS 11 in Racine County

October 29, 2009

All lanes of traffic on WIS 11 (State Street/Durand Avenue), from Main Street to the Burlington Bypass, will officially open to traffic on Thursday, Nov. 5 announced the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).

Crews began work on this project in mid-June. The 2.4-mile, $3 million dollar project consisted of pavement replacement and the installation of traffic signals at the WIS 11 and County W intersection.

James Peterson and Sons, Inc. was the prime contractor. A combination of federal and state funds paid for the project.

WisDOT encourages motorists to obey speeds and use caution, especially on the newly improved WIS 11 and County W intersection.
