Public meeting Nov. 18 for WIS 59/164 project in Waukesha County

November 5, 2009

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has announced a public information meeting is scheduled to discuss improvements to the intersection of WIS 59 and WIS 164 in Waukesha County. The meeting is scheduled from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009 at Waukesha West High School, 3301 Saylesville Road, Waukesha.

The proposed concepts include improvements to the WIS 59/164 intersection to provide free flow traffic movements between these major highways. Design concepts being considered for the intersection include the addition of acceleration and deceleration lanes, providing for a dual left-turn lane from eastbound WIS 59, lengthening turn lanes, and reconfiguration of existing right-turn lanes to allow for free flow right turns.

Construction is currently scheduled to begin in 2011.

The community is encouraged to attend anytime between 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Displays illustrating the existing roadway condition and proposed roadway improvements will be available for review and the project team will be available to provide information and answer questions.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like additional information, contact Asad Khan, WisDOT Project Manager, at (262) 548-5663. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Asad Khan, WisDOT Southeast Region, 141 NW Barstow Street, P.O. Box 798, Waukesha, WI  53187-0798.
