Public meeting Nov. 18 for US 10/WIS 441 in Winnebago County

November 6, 2009

Meeting to focus on Tayco Street to WIS 47 redesign

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation NE Region in Green Bay is announcing a public information meeting to obtain input on redesigned plans for the Tayco Street to WIS 47 section of the US 10/WIS 441 Tri-County freeway in Winnebago County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009 at the Menasha Public Library, 440 First Street, Menasha. The meeting room is located in the lower level (Company E room). A presentation is planned for 5:15 p.m. The remainder of the meeting will follow an open house format.

The Tayco Street to WIS 47 section of the Tri-County freeway is being redesigned to further improve safety by addressing the curves through the County P and County AP interchanges. Roundabouts are also being recommended at the following locations:

  • Racine Street interchange ramps near Calder stadium
  • Westbound on- and off-ramps at realigned/reconfigured County P interchange (existing loop ramp will be removed)
  • Westbound ramp terminal intersection at County AP interchange
  • Both ramp terminal intersections at WIS 47 interchange
  • Both ramp terminal intersections at Oneida Street interchange

Other proposed improvements include expanding the Tri-County freeway from four to six lanes between US 41 and Oneida Street and constructing a second parallel bridge over Little Lake Butte des Morts.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more about the redesigned plan for Tayco Street to WIS 47, ask questions and provide comments. Maps showing the current plan will be on display and WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project, answer questions and listen to public comments and concerns.

The meeting facility is wheelchair accessible. People who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may call WisDOT project manager Bill Bertrand via the Wisconsin Telecommunication Relay System (dial 711). To allow time for arranging assistance, please call no later than three working days prior to the meeting.
