Public meeting Nov. 17 for US 41 in Outagamie County

Meeting to focus on design for improving safety and traffic flow

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing a public information meeting to discuss plans for improvements along US 41 between WIS 125 and WIS 96 in Outagamie County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009 at Appleton West High School, 610 N. Badger Avenue, Appleton. Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2011.

The proposed improvements include:

  • Constructing auxiliary lanes along US 41 between WIS 125 and WIS 96.
  • Ramp improvement for:
    • A second right turn lane at the WIS 125 northbound off-ramp terminal.
    • Two additional right turn lanes and a second left turn lane at the WIS 125 southbound off-ramp terminal.
    • A second exit lane along both the WIS 125 southbound and WIS 96 northbound off-ramps.
  • Pavement repairs on US 41 from Spencer Street to County OO and on WIS 125 between the US 41 ramp termini.
  • Resurfacing WIS 96 from Casaloma Drive to US 41.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvements will be on display and WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.

Citizens interested in the project but unable to attend the meeting, or wanting more information, may contact Charles Karow, project development supervisor at (920) 492-5997. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Charles Karow, WisDOT, P.O. Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Charles Karow at least three working days prior to the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System (dial 711).
