US 14 improvements in Richland County to be discussed at Dec. 8 public meeting

Planned improvements to US 14 in the city of Richland Center will be discussed at a public information meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009.
The meeting will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Richland Center Municipal Building, 450 South Main Street, Richland Center.
WisDOT is proposing to reconstruct US 14 west of Hive Drive and continuing east to North Orange Street. Project improvements include:
- Reconstructing the highway with new concrete pavement
- Curb and gutter
- Storm sewer
- Sidewalks
Between Westside Drive and North Orange Street, the improvements include:
- Replacing the concrete pavement
- Curb and gutter
- Portions of the existing sidewalk will also be replaced.
- New street lighting will be installed between Hive Drive and North Orange Street.
Construction is currently scheduled for 2013. US 14 will remain open during construction, utilizing staged construction.
The Dec. 8 meeting will be conducted in an open house format with a variety of exhibits and maps available for review. Representatives from WisDOT will be on hand to answer questions throughout the evening. Attendees will have the option of making written or verbal comments during the gathering.
