Henry Avenue bridge in Beloit to be discussed at Dec. 3 public meeting

Planned improvements to the Henry Avenue bridge over the Rock River in Beloit will be discussed at a public information meeting Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009. The meeting will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Rotary River Center, 1220 Riverside Dr., Beloit.
WisDOT is proposing to replace and widen the approaches and bridge deck to four lanes. A shared-use path, sidewalk, and six scenic overlooks are also included in the plans. Construction is currently scheduled for 2012.
The Dec. 3 meeting will be conducted in an open house format with a variety of exhibits and maps available for review. Representatives from WisDOT will be on hand to answer questions throughout the evening. Attendees will have the option of making written or verbal comments during the gathering.
