Eric Johnson, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project involves the crack filling and seal coating of the airport’s pavements. This routine maintenance by the Bureau of Aeronautics extends the life of existing pavements to avoid costly reconstruction.
The project is scheduled for August.
- State = $1,625
- City of Superior = $1,625
- Federal Aviation Administration = $61,750
Richard I. Bong Airport has two runways, a 5,100 foot paved runway and a 4,000 foot paved crosswind runway.
