Second public meeting for US 12/18 Freeway Conversion Study, Dane County
April 10, 2013
Study extends from I-39/90 and Beltline interchange to County N interchange
A second public information meeting will occur on Wednesday, April 24 to discuss the US 12/18 Freeway Conversion Study between I-39/90 and US 12/18 (Beltline interchange) and the County N interchange in Dane County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. in the McFarland High School cafeteria, 5101 Farwell Street, McFarland, WI 53558.
This meeting will present the freeway conversion alternatives developed after obtaining comments and feedback from area residents. Conversion of US 12/18 to a freeway would eliminate at-grade intersections within the study limits and reduce access to interchanges. The study is evaluating additional interchanges, grade-separated overpasses, and frontage roads to connect local roadways without interruption to freeway traffic flow.
No construction activities are planned at this time.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions regarding this study. Maps of the area will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the study on an individual basis.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, contact Project Manager Craig Pringle, WisDOT SW Region, at (608) 242-8058. Written comments regarding the study can be mailed to Project Manager Craig Pringle, WisDOT SW, 2101 Wright Street, Madison, WI 53704. Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Craig Pringle at least three working days prior to the meeting.
