Governor Walker approves US 10 improvements in Manitowoc County

Work set to begin Monday, July 8
As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker has approved $2.08 million for the reconstruction of the Branch River Bridge and the US 10/County P/Carbon Road intersection in Manitowoc County. Work begins Monday, July 8 and will be completed in October.
The contractor is Vinton Construction, Manitowoc, WI.
Work includes replacing the bridge structure over the Branch River, installation of a storm sewer along US 10 near the bridge, and reconstruction of the US 10/County P/Carbon Road intersection.
US 10 will be closed to through traffic from Branch River Road to County P for the entire duration of the project. The detour follows US 10 to County J to County JJ to I-43. This detour route will be used until July 15. A separate project on US 10 in Reedsville begins on July 15 and the detour route will change to follow US 10 to County W to County JJ to I-43.
Access will be maintained to all businesses and residences during the project.
