Bridge repairs on WIS 22/73 scheduled in Wood, Marquette counties
July 5, 2013
Crews will begin preventative maintenance work on two bridges in Wood and Marquette counties beginning next week.
Nika Contracting Inc. is the prime contractor for the $200,000 project. Crews will repaint the bridges to prevent future rusting and deterioration.
Work on Rocky Run Creek bridge, located on WIS 73 approximately .8 miles west of Wood County B in the town of Cary, is scheduled to begin Wednesday, July 10, and is scheduled for completion on Wednesday, July 17.
Work on Mecan River bridge, located on WIS 22 approximately four miles north of Marquette County J in the town of Crystal Lake, is scheduled to begin Wednesday, July 17 and is scheduled for completion on Wednesday, July 31.
The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction status.
During construction the bridges will be open to traffic. Motorists can expect to encounter single lane closures with temporary signals. To avoid delays motorists should use an alternate route.
The projects will be paid for with 80 percent of federal transportation funds and the remaining twenty percent will be paid for with state transportation funds.
