I-94 work in Eau Claire begins

July 11, 2013

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is replacing approximately five miles of I-94 pavement in both eastbound and westbound lanes from WIS 37 to US 53 in Eau Claire County. Approximately 3/4 miles of WIS 37 pavement, from just north of Silver Springs Drive to just south of Hamilton Avenue/Short Street, will also be replaced.

Anticipated project schedule:

July 1 – Traffic control staging begins.

July 9 – Lane closures in each direction will begin.

July 26 – The I-94 eastbound entrance ramp from WIS 93 and the I-94 westbound entrance ramps from US 53 will close until September.

After Labor Day – Both WIS 93 entrance ramps to I-94 will close until November 9.

Recommended alternate routes include WIS 29 and US 53 for through traffic. Also, WIS 312/County EE and US 53 interchanges are recommended access points for Eau Claire.

Project updates can be found at the project web page.
