Governor Walker approves WIS 96 improvements in Outagamie County

July 12, 2013

Work set to begin Monday, July 22

As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker has approved $4.2 million to improve 10 miles of WIS 96 from US 45 to WIS 76 in Outagamie County. Work begins on Monday, July 22 and will be completed by November 1.

The contractor is Northeast Asphalt, Greenville, WI.

The project includes addressing the deteriorating concrete pavement by rubblizing it in the rural sections and repairing the concrete pavement joints in Medina and Dale. The entire length of roadway will be overlaid with asphalt. There will also be beam guard upgrades and new signing and road marking.

WIS 96 will remain open to traffic during the project. In the rural areas, the highway will be restricted to one lane of traffic with flagging operations.

Motorists should anticipate backups and are reminded to use caution and remain alert when driving through this or any work zone.
