WIS 73 resurfacing scheduled in Marquette, Waushara counties

July 16, 2013

Resurfacing work on WIS 73, in Plainfield, between the White River bridge and WIS 21 is scheduled to begin Monday, July 22.

Northeast Asphalt Inc. is the prime contractor for the $1.9 million project. Crews will resurface approximately 7 miles of WIS 73 by milling the existing pavement and overlaying it with new asphalt. Other improvements include:

  • Installing of new storm sewer from the White River bridge to Park Street in Neshkoro
  • Widening the paved shoulders to 5 feet at the north and south ends of the project
  • Installing new sidewalk in Neshkoro on the east side of WIS 73 from Park Street to Bluff Street

WIS 73 will remain open to traffic during construction. Motorists can expect to encounter daytime lane closures and flagging operations. Construction is currently scheduled for completion by late August 2013.

The project will be paid for with a combination of federal, state and local transportation funds.
