Public meeting for US 18 improvements, Bridgeport

July 31, 2013

Meeting to present project alternatives

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will hold a public information meeting to discuss the proposed improvements of US 18 from South Town Lane to WIS 60 in the town of Bridgeport. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 15 in the Community Room at the Bridgeport Fire Station, 63176 Vineyard Road. A brief presentation will be made at 5:15.

Project improvement concepts include reconstructing US 18 between South Town Lane and WIS 60. The highway will be widened from the existing 2-3 lane roadway to a 4 lane divided roadway, and improvements made to US 18/WIS 60 intersection. Access points will be reduced by realigning and combining various side roads before connecting to US 18. Construction is currently scheduled for 2016. The project will be constructed in stages while remaining open to traffic.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, contact Jeremy Krachey, WisDOT project manager, at (608) 789-5702. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Jeremy Krachey, 3550 Mormon Coulee Road, La Crosse, WI 54601.
