Governor Walker approves WIS 175 improvements in Fond du Lac County

August 15, 2013

Work set to begin Monday, August 19

As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker has approved $986,000 to improve 7 miles of WIS 175 from the south Fond du Lac County line near Byron north to US 151 in Fond du Lac County. Work begins Monday, August 19 and expected to conclude by late September.

The contractor is Northeast Asphalt, Inc., Greenville, Wisconsin.

Work includes resurfacing the roadway, signing and pavement marking.

WIS 175 will be closed at the railroad crossing in Byron beginning Wednesday, August 21 and expected to reopen by Friday, August 30. During this closure, traffic will be detoured from WIS 49 to US 41 to County B.

For the rest of the project, traffic will be reduced to one lane at various locations during construction, with traffic controlled by flagging operations. Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution and remain alert when driving through this or any work zone.
