Public meeting scheduled for US 63 Project in Washburn County

September 5, 2013

Meeting to focus on project need and alternatives

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northwest Region in Superior is announcing a public information meeting to discuss the US 63 project between the South County Line and Woodyard Road. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on September 19 at the Barronett Town Hall. Barronett Town Hall is located at N1608 South Heart Lake Road, Barronett, Wisconsin.

The project begins at the South Washburn County line and goes 3.8 miles north, ending just south of Woodyard Road. Several changes have recently been made to the proposed scope of work. The proposed project now consists of milling the existing asphalt pavement and resurfacing, widening the paved shoulders  and adding a right turn lane for southbound traffic at the US 63 and Brickyard Road intersection.  The project is currently scheduled for 2015 construction.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. This meeting will only address this specific project and will not cover the US 63 project between Woodyard Road and County B (east), also scheduled for 2015 construction. The meeting will have an open-house format, with project exhibits on display for review. WisDOT representatives will be available to address any questions or concerns.

If you are unable to attend the meeting and would like more information, contact Phil Keppers at (715) 395-3027 or Greg Pesola at (715) 392-7998.
