WIS 35/WIS 70 roundabout project delayed
September 10, 2013
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) in Superior is announcing that plans to build a modern roundabout at the intersection of WIS 35/WIS 70 have been delayed one year.
Last February, WisDOT representatives presented final project concepts and a proposed construction timeline at a public information meeting at the Burnett County Government Center. At that time, WisDOT indicated work would begin on the project in the spring of 2014 and be completed in the fall of 2014. However, due to issues with regional program funding allocations, the project is being delayed.
The general layout and location of the roundabout will remain the same. There will be a slight modification to the original design in the north leg of the roundabout to reduce the foot print and consequently reduce costs.
Construction is now expected to begin in the spring of 2015 and be completed in the fall of 2015.
