Reminder: Public hearing in Milwaukee for U.S. 41 Conversion Project

September 12, 2013

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast and Southeast regions are announcing a Public Hearing to discuss the conversion of US 41 from a US Highway to an Interstate will take place:

  • Thursday, September 12, 2013
Milwaukee Area Technical College – Oak Creek Campus
6665 South Howell Avenue, Oak Creek
    Lecture Hall room A241
Park in Student lot C, use Entrance #13, lecture hall is immediately inside the entrance

The Public Hearing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with a presentation at 5:30 p.m.

The proposed I-41 will begin at the US 41 interchange on I-94, just south of the Wisconsin border and will end on the north side of Green Bay at I-43. As part of the Interstate conversion, the segment of US 41 between I-94 near Miller Park (Stadium interchange) and US 45, known locally as Lisbon Avenue and Appleton Avenue, will be designated WIS 175, and US 41 will be rerouted to become concurrent with the proposed I-41.

The Milwaukee area Public Hearing will be the final Public Hearing held along the US 41 corridor. The first hearing took place September 10 at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton and the second hearing took place September 11 at UW-Fond du Lac.

There will be no construction-related projects associated with the conversion.
