September 13, 2013
Work set to begin Wednesday, September 18
As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker has approved $300,000 to improve the I-43/WIS 147 interchange in Manitowoc County. Work begins Wednesday, September 18. It is expected to be completed by mid-October.
The contractor is Sommers Construction Company, Inc., Shiocton.
This project includes widening the ramps and new pavement marking. The interchange will remain open during construction. The ramps will be widened to better accommodate oversized longer trucks. Additionally, WIS 147 in the vicinity of the interchange will have lane restrictions and flagging operations at various times throughout the project. Motorists are advised to use caution and remain alert when driving through this or any work zone.
