Public information meeting for safety improvements to the US 51 (S. Riverside Drive) and Cranston Road intersection, town of Beloit

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will hold a public information meeting to discuss the preliminary design for safety improvements to the US 51 (S. Riverside Drive) and Cranston Road intersection in the town of Beloit. The meeting will be held on Thursday, September 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the conference room of the Beloit Town Hall, 2871 S. Afton Road, Beloit.

The proposed improvements include adding a left-turn lane on southbound US 51 and updating the traffic signals. The project limits are approximately 400 feet north of the US 51/E. Henderson Avenue intersection and end 450 feet north of the US 51/E. Weirick Avenue intersection.

The improvements are scheduled for 2016 construction.

The purpose of this meeting is to inform the public of the status of preliminary design, the proposed alternative and project schedule. WisDOT project representatives will be available to discuss the proposed project and familiarize interested parties with the project concepts. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning the project.
