Leo Frigo Bridge and portion of I-43 closed to all traffic

WIS 172 signed detour in place

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing the Leo Frigo Bridge and the portion of I-43 from Atkinson Road to Webster Avenue is closed to northbound and southbound traffic. A signed detour using WIS 172 is in place. I-43 northbound traffic can exit to WIS 172 westbound to US 41 northbound to I-43 northbound. Southbound 1-43 traffic can follow US 41 southbound to WIS 172 eastbound to I-43 southbound.

WisDOT does not have a time as to when I-43 will reopen. We are currently evaluating the cause of the closure. We will have no further details until a news conference this afternoon.

The conference is scheduled for:

  • When: 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, September 25
  • Where: WisDOT NE Region Office, 944 Vanderperren Way, Green Bay
