Work starting Monday on Tayco Street Bridge in Menasha

October 10, 2013

Project will have minor traffic impacts

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing work beginning Monday, October 14 on the Tayco Street Bridge (WIS 114) crossing the Fox River in Menasha, Winnebago County. Work will be completed in May, 2014.

The project includes upgrades to electrical and video equipment required in the operation of the Tayco Street lift bridge. It also includes replacement of the existing retractable barrier system with a vertical barrier gate system to halt vehicle traffic when the bridge is in operation and some localized modification at the Tayco/Water Street intersection to accept the new barrier gates. Cost is estimated at $666,000.

Plans call for single lane closures on northbound and southbound Tayco Street within the project limits. Additionally, there will be no access to Water Street at the Tayco Street intersection. The public should use caution and remain alert when driving through this or any work zone.
