Public meeting for WIS 88 in Buffalo County

October 14, 2013

Meeting to focus on preliminary designs for improving WIS 88

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northwest Region in Eau Claire is announcing a public information meeting to discuss preliminary plans for improvements to WIS 88 in Buffalo County. This meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 29 from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at the Lincoln Town Hall, S1491 State Road 88, Alma, Wisconsin.

There will be two separate projects. The first project is from County E to WIS 37 in the towns of Waumandee, Lincoln, Gilmanton, and Mondovi. It involves replacing culvert pipes with possible right of way required at the culvert pipe locations. This project is currently scheduled for construction in the summer of 2015 and would require a detour of the highway.

The second project is from County E to County U in the towns of Waumandee and Lincoln. It is a roadway maintenance and preservation project, which will include a concrete overlay on the bridge over Johns Valley Creek and new signage. This project is currently scheduled for construction in the summer of 2016 and would not require a detour.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning these proposed projects. Maps of the proposed improvement area will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
