Public meeting for WIS 124/Bridge Street in Chippewa County

October 28, 2013

Meeting to focus on preliminary designs for improvement of WIS 124/Bridge Street

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northwest Region in Eau Claire is announcing a public information meeting to discuss preliminary plans for improvements to WIS 124 (Bridge Street) in Chippewa County. This meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 7 from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at the Chippewa Falls City Hall, 30 W. Central Street, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

The project is from the Chippewa River Bridge to River Street. It involves restricting left turns out of Court Street and other proposed driveways. The north end of the project will require pavement widening to match into the new roundabout recently constructed at the intersection of WIS 124 (Bridge Street) and River Street. In addition, light poles will need to be adjusted/added and storm sewer will be modified to connect to the existing system and the new roundabout. This project is currently scheduled for construction in the summer of 2014 and will be constructed under traffic utilizing temporary crossovers.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning these proposed projects. Maps of the proposed improvement area will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, contact Project Leader Stacie Lambele, P.E. at (715) 833-5569. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Stacie Lambele, P.E., WisDOT, 718 W.
