I-94 work in Eau Claire and Trempealeau counties completed
November 8, 2013
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northwest Region is pleased to announce that work on I-94 in Eau Claire and Trempealeau counties is complete.
The $34 million project to improve I-94 between Mallard Road and County NN in Eau Claire County started in 2012. The project included new pavement, bridge structures and bridge deck overlays. Other than some signing items that will be installed next week, the project will be done today.
The first year of a two-year project to make improvements on I-94 in Eau Claire will also wrap up today. All ramps at WIS 93 and lanes on I-94 will open by the end of the day. Work will resume next year to replace I-94 pavement from WIS 37 to WIS 93, the westbound I-94 bridge over Lowes Creek and WIS 37 north and southbound pavement.
"A significant amount of work has been done to make improvements to the pavement on I-94 and extend its life for years to come," said Northwest Region Director Don Gutkowski. "We appreciate the patience of motorists and businesses impacted by the lane and ramp closures."
