Governor Walker approves $380,000 project at King’s Land O’Lakes Airport
November 19, 2013
Governor Scott Walker today announced a $380,352 project to replace the snow removal equipment building at King’s Land O’Lakes Airport in the town of Land O’Lakes.
Dan Brugman, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the new snow removal equipment (SRE) building will be located in a hangar building purchased by the airport. The current SRE building is in poor condition and not energy efficient. In addition, this project includes funding to acquire land near the terminal building and cover costs associated with tree clearing near the runway approaches.
- State = $13,675
- Town of Land O’Lakes = $13,676
- Federal Aviation Administration = $353,001
The renovated SRE building is expected to be completed by the end of 2013.
King’s Land O’Lakes Airport is one of 98 facilities included in the Wisconsin State Airport System Plan (SASP). It is classified as a medium general aviation airport, supporting most single and multi-engine aircraft, including those aircraft commonly used by businesses.
