Public meeting planned for US 2 in city of Ashland

Meeting to focus on culvert replacement project in 2014
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northwest Region in Superior is announcing a public information meeting to discuss the plans to replace a culvert on US 2 in the city of Ashland. The meeting is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15 in the Bay Area Rapid Transit Building, 2216 6th Street East, Ashland.
The project starts at 29th Avenue East and continues east along US 2 to 36th Avenue East/Sum Road. The project will replace failing culvert pipes and make needed repairs to the concrete pavement between 29th Avenue East and 36th Avenue East. A detour route will be needed during the project which will begin this summer. The work is expected to take approximately two months.
WisDOT staff will be on hand to answer questions. If you are unable to attend the meeting and would like more information or to comment, please contact Phil Keppers at (715) 395-3027. The meeting site is accessible to wheelchairs. Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and who require an interpreter may arrange for one by contacting Phil Keppers at least three days prior to the meeting.
