State suspends license of Fond du Lac area auto dealer

January 7, 2014

The motor vehicle dealer license of a Fond du Lac area dealership was suspended on December 18, 2013 by the state of Wisconsin. The suspension remains in effect until the dealer is in compliance with Wisconsin law. An investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s (WisDOT) Division of Motor Vehicles–Dealer and Agent Section found that Family Auto Budget Sales LLC, 556 South Military Road, violated state law. The dealership acknowledged that, despite earlier warnings, it failed to adhere to dealer facility licensing requirements required by Wisconsin statute.

The state Department of Administration’s Division of Hearings and Appeals found these violations warranted a suspension of Family Auto Budget Sales’ motor vehicle dealer’s license. The suspension will remain in effect until the vehicles displayed off-premise are properly stored at a location that is inaccessible to the public or until the location is properly licensed.

While suspended, the dealership cannot engage in any activity that requires a motor vehicle dealer license. Any future violations could result in the loss of the dealership’s motor vehicle dealer license. Family Auto Budget Sales agreed to allow agents or employees of WisDOT to inspect all business records necessary to verify compliance with the Order Suspending License.
