Public meeting for WIS 27 in Crawford County

January 30, 2014

Meeting to focus on proposed project alternatives and improvements

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed alternatives and improvements for WIS 27 between Prairie du Chien and Eastman in Crawford County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on February 27 at the Friendship Hall in the Salem United Methodist Church, 112 S. Main Street, Eastman.

The project will involve reconstruction and rehabilitation 9.94 miles of WIS 27 between Cipra Road in the town of Prairie du Chien and Water Street in the village of Eastman. Several horizontal curves in the rural portion will be reconstructed to current standards; the alignment of the remainder of the roadway will generally follow the existing alignment. Side road intersections, driveway entrances, and culverts and storm sewer will be replaced. The projects are currently scheduled for 2019.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives and representatives from the engineering consulting firm of MSA Professional Services, Inc. will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, contact Project Manager Jeremy Krachey at (608) 789-5702. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Jeremy Krachey, 3550 Mormon Coulee Road, La Crosse, Wisconsin 54601.
