Heavy snow impacting afternoon commute

February 20, 2014

It took awhile, but the predicted heavy snow has entered northwestern Wisconsin, just in time for the drive home from work. Current road conditions range from snow covered in the west and north to slippery stretches in the southern part of the region. The Wisconsin State Patrol wants to remind motorists that the road conditions can change quickly and will become more hazardous as the night progresses.

If you must travel, be prepared for the unexpected and check winter road conditions before leaving home by calling 5-1-1 or visiting Wisconsin 511 online. Both State Patrol and Division of Highways will monitor road conditions throughout the night.

Additional winter driving tips can be found on WisDOT’s website. Road condition and other updates will also be posted at Twitter.
