Northbound lane closures planned for US 41 in Outagamie County
March 14, 2014
Overnight lane closures will reduce roadway to one lane in each direction
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region is announcing full lane closures on US 41 at the US 41/WIS 47 (N. Richmond Street) interchange in Outagamie County during the evening next week. These closures will reduce US 41 northbound to one lane with traffic diverted onto the interchange ramps. They are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, March 17, Tuesday, March 18 and Wednesday, March 19.
The closures are necessary due to the removal of the bridge carrying WIS 47 northbound traffic.
Please note WIS 47 where it crosses US 41 will be closed during this time as well. The full detour route is WIS 47/ County OO or County JJ/County E.
Motorists should anticipate backups at this location, use caution and remain alert to signing directions.
The $4.2 million project will raise the clearance under the bridge from 15 feet to 16 feet 9 inches minimum – this is the last bridge along US 41 in Outagamie County to be raised. The bridge deck is also being widened from 39 feet to 39 feet 11 inches and the lanes are being reconfigured to add a separated bike/pedestrian lane. Work is expected to be completed in October.
