County C Bridge to close for construction in Racine County
March 31, 2014
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to close the County C Bridge in Racine County as part of the WIS 20 Interchange reconstruction project beginning this week.
Starting Tuesday, April 1 at 7 a.m., the bridge will be closed to traffic until late fall 2014. Motorists who would normally use County C can use WIS 20 as a detour during the closure.
Demolition of the County C Bridge is expected to begin Wednesday night, April 2 through Monday, April 7. The work will also require multiple overnight freeway closures on I-94 from County K to WIS 20. There will be adequate signage to direct motorists to proper detours.
The WIS 20 Interchange project this year includes a reconstruction of the County C Bridge over I-94, the I-94 West (northbound) Bridge over WIS 20, entrance and exit ramps to and from I-94 West (northbound), and I-94 West (northbound) mainline at WIS 20. The project is expected to be complete late fall 2015.
More information about the project can be found at the project website.
