Governor Walker approves project for second construction phase at Central Wisconsin Airport
March 31, 2014
Governor Scott Walker today announced a $7,188,019 terminal building reconstruction project at Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA) in Mosinee.
Dan Brugman, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project includes a nearly 24,000 square foot addition on the terminal building’s east side. This space will offer an improved baggage handling area to better serve customers. It is the second of a three phase project to upgrade CWA’s terminal building.
- State = $500,000
- Marathon and Portage counties = $1,501,001
- Federal Aviation Administration = $5,187,018
Construction on this second phase is scheduled to be completed in September 2014.
Central Wisconsin Airport is one of 98 facilities included in the Wisconsin State Airport System Plan, which makes it eligible for state and federal funding. Airport improvement projects are administered through WisDOT’s Bureau of Aeronautics.
