Public meeting scheduled for WIS 23 work in Fond du Lac County

April 1, 2014

Meeting to focus on preliminary design concepts and public input

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing a public involvement meeting to discuss design concepts for a proposed resurface project on WIS 23 between Ripon and Rosendale in Fond du Lac County. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the village of Rosendale Municipal Building located at 211 N. Grant Street, Rosendale. A brief presentation is scheduled for 5:15 p.m.

The proposed improvement project on WIS 23 begins just east of Douglas Street in the town of Ripon and ends just west of Lafayette Street in the village of Rosendale. Proposed improvements include:

  • Milling and resurfacing WIS 23
  • Replacement of the box culvert and beam guard at Silver Creek
  • Several culvert pipe replacements throughout the project limits
  • Spot repairs to curb and gutter in the village of Rosendale

Work is scheduled to begin in 2015 after the middle of June and be completed by November.

WIS 23 will remain open for most of the project. There will be occasional lane closures with flagging operations. Minor delays may be expected.  WIS 23 will be closed for approximately six weeks at Silver Creek during the box culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured using WIS 49 and County KK.

Dates for the construction and the detour will be announced when they are scheduled.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning the project. Maps and other information will be on display and WisDOT staff will be available to explain the proposed improvements and answer questions.
