Meeting to focus on preliminary design concepts and public input

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region is announcing a public involvement meeting to discuss design concepts for a proposed reconstruction of WIS 96 from Lawe Street to Claribel Street in the city of Kaukauna, Outagamie County. The meeting will be held on Monday, April 14 at Kaukauna City Hall, 201 W. Second Street, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. A short presentation will be made at 5:15 p.m.

The project includes reconstruction of the pavement, new curb and gutter, new sidewalks, bicycle accommodations, and new storm sewer. The project is anticipated to be constructed in 2020. WIS 96 will remain open to local traffic only while through traffic will be detoured. Work is scheduled for 2020.

We also ask you to share any knowledge you may have about historic buildings and structures, archaeological sites, septic systems, drain tiles, or drainage problems near the project with the project staff.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting to review and discuss the proposed improvements. WisDOT also asks that citizens please share any questions, comments, or concerns about the project at the meeting with department staff.
