Public meeting scheduled for US 14 project TUESDAY, April 22, Cross Plains

County KP, County P bridge, Bourbon Road work scheduled for 2014; US 14 reconstruction scheduled for  2015

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss planned improvements to US 14 (Main Street) in Cross Plains. The meeting is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22 at the Glacier Creek Middle School Cafetorium, 2800 Military Road, Cross Plains. There will be a brief presentation at 6 p.m.

Work scheduled to begin in July includes the resurfacing of County KP and the reconstruction of the County P bridge over Black Earth Creek. Improvements will also be made along Bourbon Road to serve as a detour route during the US 14 work.

Beginning in March of 2015, US 14 will be reconstructed from County KP to Westview Court. County P will be realigned to provide a more efficient and safer intersection with US 14, and will include a new, wider bridge with additional turn lanes. Village sanitary sewer and water main will be reconstructed.

The $14.5 million project will improve traffic safety and operations through the community.

The public is encouraged to attend the open-house meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
