Public involvement meeting for WIS 16/60 reconstruction, Columbus
April 7, 2014
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss the reconstruction of WIS 16/60 (James Street) in Columbus. The meeting is scheduled for April 16 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Columbus Middle School, 400 South Dickason Boulevard.
The meeting will be an open house format with a brief presentation at 5:30 p.m. WIS 16/60 between Industrial Drive and Manning Street is planned for reconstruction in 2017. The project will include a new pavement, intersection improvements, bike and pedestrian accommodations, storm sewer upgrades, traffic signal replacement, street lighting replacement, and water main improvements. This project may require the purchase of right-of-way for construction.
Information will also be available on the reconstruction of the WIS 16/60 and US 151 interchange, currently planned for 2021. The project is not anticipating any new right-of-way needed for construction.
The meeting facility is handicap accessible. Persons who are deaf or hard of hearing requiring an interpreter may request one by contacting WisDOT Project Manager Dave Pilon at least three working days prior to the meeting.
