Work resuming on College Avenue Bridge in Appleton

April 17, 2014

Parapets being cleaned and painted

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing work will resume on the College Avenue Bridge in Appleton, Outagamie County on Monday, April 21.

The parapets are being cleaned and painted. Work had been suspended in mid-January when the bridge railing work was completed and could not start again until the weather improved and the project could move onto the next phase. The entire project is scheduled to be finished by the mid-June, 2014.

During this work, there will be periodic short duration lane closures during the evenings and longer duration sidewalk closures. These will be announced in advance.

The bridge railing replacement and cleaning and painting of the parapets were needed due to corrosion of the railings.
