April 17, 2014
US 10 east detour starts Thursday, April 24
As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker recently approved $1.98 million to improve a 1.6-mile stretch of US 10 eastbound from the I-43/US 10 east interchange to County Road R (Rapids Road) in Manitowoc and the I-43/US 10 east interchange ramps. Construction is scheduled to begin Thursday, April 24 (weather dependent). The work is expected to be completed by the end of September.
Vinton Construction is the prime contractor.
Work on US 10 includes concrete base patching, reconstructing inlets, paving, storm sewer, signing and pavement marking. Work on the interchange includes resurfacing and base patching all ramps. Project benefits include a better driving experience and extended life of the existing road and interchange ramps.
US 10 East and the interchange will be closed and detoured throughout the project. The northbound detour from I-43 is US 151 to County Road R to US 10. The southbound detour from I-43 is WIS 310 to County Road R to US 151.
Motorists are advised to use caution and remain alert when driving through this or any work zone.
