WIS 54/County A intersection improvements scheduled in Portage County

Improvements to the WIS 54 and Portage County A intersection in the town of Lanark are scheduled to begin Monday, May 5.

S&N Incorporated is the prime contractor for the $370,000 project. Crews will realign the intersection to improve safety.

During construction, WIS 54 will remain open to traffic but motorists can expect to encounter flagging operations. County A, south of WIS 54, will be closed to through traffic until the end of May. A signed detour will not be provided.

Work is scheduled for completion in early July 2014. Ninety percent of the project will be paid for with federal transportation funds; the remaining 10 percent will be paid with state transportation funds.

Motorists are reminded to drive with caution in work zones and should be alert for slow moving vehicles. For more information regarding traffic impacts in the North Central Region:
