Governor Walker approves pavement reconstruction project at Tomah airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $291,000 pavement design and reconstruction project at Tomah Airport – Bloyer Field.
Stacey Miller, airport engineering specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project reconstructs deteriorating pavements on the aircraft apron and its connecting taxiway, along with the hangar taxiway.

Funding Breakdown

  • State = $232,800
  • City of Tomah = $58,200

Construction began last fall and is expected to be completed this spring.

Tomah Airport – Bloyer Field is one of 98 facilities included in the Wisconsin State Airport System Plan, which makes it eligible for state and federal funding. Airport improvement projects are administered through WisDOT’s Bureau of Aeronautics.
