Governor Walker approves terminal building renovation at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $1,045,000 project for interior renovations of the terminal building at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport.

Wendy Hottenstein, airport project manager with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project will construct new administrative offices, a pilot lounge, a conference room, restrooms and a future restaurant area inside the airport terminal building.

Funding Breakdown

  • State = $752,000
  • Rock County = $293,000

The project is scheduled to begin in May 2014 and should be completed by fall of 2014.

Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport is one of 98 facilities included in the Wisconsin State Airport System Plan, which makes it eligible for state and federal funding. Airport improvement projects are administered through WisDOT’s Bureau of Aeronautics.
